The fourth-annual IEEE Global Humanitarian Technology Conference (GHTC) will take place 10-13 October 2014 in Silicon Valley, California.
According to the GHTC website, the conference “focuses on advancing technology for the benefit of humanity.”
GHTC aims to attract a wide array of people interested in applying technology for humanitarian solutions, including educators, engineers, scientists, practitioners, philanthropists, corporations, foundations, and NGOs.
The conference is divided into five tracks:
• Energy
• Health
• Disaster, connectivity, and communication
• Humanitarian challenges and opportunities
• Water and agriculture.
Presentations will include technical paper presentations, interactive poster presentations, short talks, and special sessions. GHTC will also feature several contests, including student contests, a photo/video contest, and a contest for young professionals.
