From Jan. 13-17, Geneva, Switzerland, will host the Group on Earth Observation’s (GEO) 10th Annual Plenary Session and GEO Ministerial Summit. The Plenary Session is officially Jan. 15-16, with the Summit occurring on Jan. 17. Related events and side sessions will begin on Jan. 13.
GEO is an international organization devoted to furthering understanding of Earth systems and promoting ecological and human health and well-being. GEO is made up of 67 participating organizations and 89 member states. The GEO Plenary is composed of representatives from the GEO participants and acts as the primary decision-making body within the organization, meeting once or more per year.
The 2014 GEO Plenary Session will be held at the Geneva International Conference Center. It will include sessions that cover Earth observation research and activities, such as forest monitoring or socioeconomic impacts, and sessions for individual Working Groups, such as those for African Land Cover and Data Sharing.
Online registration for the 2014 GEO Plenary Session has closed, but delegates may register in-person beginning on Jan. 14.
